amen! Ohio is the same way. I find it way easier to buy them on ebay. I don't even bother trading that much anymore. I go through mypoints and go directly to ebay. It takes me maybe 20 minutes a week.. couponing is becoming huge anymore. I cannot believe how big it has become.. kind of stinks!

1.50 for a good paper? I WISH julie!!
try at LEAST 1.75, and actually for the good paper, the trib. it is over 2.00!

Lisa but again even if I buy on ebay I won't get them in time for the ONE store that doubles coupons on Wednesday. I really see NO solution!

That's why I was saying make sure you know your regulars.

Like at Publix, I have gotten to know their rotation of the sales, and I know that with in 6 weeks ICBINB will be BOGO and one of 4 types of pasta. Also helps to watch the Winn Dixie ad for me, if Publix has it coming this week, that means chances are WD had it last week.

That way if it's on sale you have the coupons already and if it's something they don't normally put in rotation you can focus on getting just those.

Do you have limits on what makes it a good deal???

EXAMPLE: Dr. Pepper is generally (walmart) 50 cent a can, for me it's a good deal if I can get it for under 25 cent a can and if it's at 22 cent a can I'm buying LOTS!!!

For me a good price on TP if a double roll or higher (not just a single roll) is no more than 70 cent a roll. I know that is still a bit on the high side, but I'm willing to pay that for good TP; I just can't use John Wayne toilet paper!! LOL

I break meals up into cost per serving, HBA I am a stickler about cuz I refuse to pay more than 1.00 for shampoo or body wash (and I'm picky when it comes to my hair and cleaners); cleaning supplies never more than 50 cent, any thing more and I could go to the dollar store. When it comes to things I prefer over what I have to have like Arm and Hammer laundry soap I am picky, I like the way it smells, I don't care if it cost me 10 dollars a bottle one week and I can get it BOGO the next, I will pay it. Same goes for Dr. Pepper, Jeff doesn't care what it cost he REQUIRES it in the house.

I think if we all went thru and wrote our "buy every week regardless" list we could send coupons easier.

Well lets do it then! Start a thread for it???

as for the meals and such. I just CANT break it down like that. I have NO IDEA how to do it. You dont get it, my brain doens't process math AT ALL. Heck i have to subtract on my fingers practically. I mean it is BAD i can't NOT process numbers, so I have no way of figured cost/per...I just know a pack is this and a pack is that...

The formula I use is

Total monthly cost

Groceries $_______
- HBA: $_______
Total monthly cost: ____________________

Total number of days in month
x's three meals a day
x's number of people in household
Total meals:_____________________

Total monthly cost____________
Divided by total meals__________

Equals: Price per meal

You can do it weekly as well

Figure out your receipts and then divide by 84 (you, brandon, Alia, Lyssa x 3 meals a day x 7 days)
